Antwerp band THE KIDS was established in '76 and is (according to Het Nieuwsblad) the only real punk band that Belgium has known to date. We really must mark the 45th anniversary of these Belpop icons with a smashing concert!
Frontman/singer Ludo Mariman discovered his ideal form of expression in punk and – after the split in '86 – left an oeuvre of five albums and one live album. The Kids reunited in '96 and in '01 they recorded the explosive live CD 'Flabbergasted!' at our very own AB. Guy Mortier wrote the following words of praise in Humo at the time: "The Kids present us with punk just like it should be: fierce and fast, enthusiastic and caustic, and excellent compositions without pretension."
