The post-hardcore band is back in full force with WIRED
Basement are a British band from Suffolk who effortlessly blend post-hardcore, emo, grunge and alternative rock. Since their debut in 2009, they have become a cult favourite thanks to their mix of gritty guitars, compelling melodies, big choruses and emotional intensity. Albums such as *Colourmeinkindness*, *Promise Everything* and *Beside Myself* have established them as a fixture on the international alternative guitar scene.
After an eight-year hiatus from writing, the five original band members are back with *Wired*, their first album since 2018. The record sounds familiar yet ambitious, with influences including R.E.M., Interpol and The Smashing Pumpkins, and a raw production by John Congleton (St. Vincent); meanwhile, their 2012 track “Covet” has been given an unexpected new lease of life thanks to TikTok, attracting a whole new generation of fans.
