Fragile indie R&B.
Concert“’What Is This Heart?’ is How to Dress Well’s modern masterpiece.
A pop album of the highest caliber.”
(Pitchfork)
How to Dress Well is the alter-ego of American vocalist/bedroom producer Tom Krell. Since late ’09, he's been dropping music onto the internet in which slow-motion R&B, misty beats and his own falsetto constitute the principle parts. The majority of these tracks landed on his much praised debut ‘Love Remains’ (’10). The creaky bedroom recordings weren't ‘cleaned up’, but consciously kept lo fi. The label Tri▼Angle – Balam Acab, Holy Other, Vessel,… - became his homebase. Pitchfork immediately crowned the album with a Best New Music score (8,7).
