Youth L'AB Takeover is a night when Brussels’ young musical talent takes complete control of the refurbished AB Salon. This event forms part of the festive start to the new season at AB and is the official opening of our new spaces on the Steenstraat.
Youth L'AB is AB’s youth laboratory, where a group of multi-talented Brussels’ youngsters spends a year getting to know how AB operates. They discover all aspects of a ‘cultural house’, from programming to production to communication and technical operations.
At the end of their trajectory, they are given carte blanche to organise their own event at AB Club. But they’re not waiting for that moment to come: with the Youth L’AB Takeover in the AB Salon they’re already giving us a taste of what is to come, with a stage for a new generation of artists.

CalligraFFerz
 
CalligraFFerz combines influences from hip-hop, jazz and trip-hop into an energetic sound. Through improvisation, the band translates human emotions into raw, authentic and creative music . Keyboard player Théo Füeg gives the compositions depth and character, bassist Yannick Heselle lays the foundation for the groove, drummer Thomas Dimmers drives everything forward and Arnaud Guichard plays with improv and dynamics.
 
Adnae 
 
Adnae is a Haitian-born musician who lives in Brussels. From her bedroom, she creates music that brings together various genres. Inspired by soul, R&B, blues, alternative rock and hip-hop, she writes personal tracks that are continually evolving. In April, she released her debut EP Okay, taking her first steps in the music world and introducing her sound and artistic vision.
 
Yannick Wouters Opoku
 
Yannick Wouters Opoku is a singer-songwriter who relies solely on his voice and an acoustic guitar to express what he feels. In a simple and sincere style, he writes about love, pain and happiness, sharing no-frills personal stories.
 
UITWEG 
 
UITWEG is an artist from Leuven who impresses with his sharp pen and talented musicians. His music moves between hip-hop, jazz and kleinkunst. After performances at Beleuvenissen, Leuven Jazz and the Gentse Feesten, he now comes to warm your heart during Youth L'AB Takeover.
