"We are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine".
The Sisters of Mercy never cease to fascinate. The band has been an iconic name in the underground scene for more than four decades, defining genres and pushing boundaries. Their combination of psychedelic punk, metal, danceable beats and deep voices creates a unique sound cocktail that has left its mark on multiple generations. The band was formed in Leeds in 1980 and named after Leonard Cohen's famous song. With cult songs such as “Body and Soul”, “Temple of Love”, “Alice” and “No Time To Cry”, they created an instantly recognisable sound.
Although no new album has been released for some time, frontman Andrew Eldritch continues to prefer the stage, where he gives increasingly intense and unpredictable concerts. In recent years, they have played countless sold-out shows, showcasing acclaimed new songs that blend the essence of their three cult albums with a contemporary energy. Their sold-out concerts and festival appearances in the United States prove that their appeal has lost none of its power. The band, led by Andrew Eldritch and accompanied by Ben Christo, Kai, “Ravey” Dave Creffield and the indispensable Doktor Avalanche, puts on a powerful show. Enhanced by an impressive light show and a set list full of hits and new songs, this is an evening not to be missed. See you on 11 October at Ancienne Belgique for a new chapter in music history!
