French-Brazilian who makes French pop tropical
This sunny Franco-Brazilian was the hottest phenomenon among our southern neighbours this past summer, and rightly so! Luiza’s music is a celebration of life, an ode to femininity, and a musical bonfire.
She was born in Rennes to a Brazilian mother and French father, and grew up in a family where music and creativity were a part of everyday life. Art was experienced as a way of being, and above all she learned to wonder about everything.
After completing a classical education at Rennes Conservatory, she instinctively sought adventure: she explored Brazil and the Amazon rainforest, life in Paris, an art academy on Réunion, and the world’s stages – where she shared her inspiration with countless artists.
She released a dub EP with the mysterious French dub duo Khoe Wa, was a guest on releases from the likes of Fakear and Flavia Coelho, and made a notable appearance on France’s most popular musical talk show Taratata with Féfé, where she finally also played songs from her own repertoire.
Her debut EP Fantastik was released earlier this year with the help of a host of top French musicians, composers and producers. Her latest single Soleil Bleu is an irresistible reggae tune, a summer hit with instant feel good effect and associated TikTok and Spotify successes. A succulent preview of her debut album, which will be released in November with many impressive featurings.
Over the past year, Luiza and her trio have been busy touring France, easily getting every audience up and dancing. Don’t miss your chance to discover this up-and-coming Franco-Brazilian talent in the intimate setting of the AB Club!
