The cult hero of lo-fi indie rock returns with a new album
Alex 'Sandy' G once started as a teenager with some DIY playing on Bandcamp, and now look at him: almost ten albums deep, a cult hero with a musical world of his own. His full name is Alexander Giannascoli, but his fans know him as the introverted master of lo-fi pop, switching effortlessly between fragile whisper vocals, strange sound experiments and cutting guitar lines or, as The FADER once described it, "one of indie rock's most curious minds". When he dropped 'Race' at 18, no one yet knew it was the start of an unstoppable creative trip. But now? Now he is 32, and about to send his next record out into the world - release: 18 July, put it in your diary. With 12 new tracks, Alex G writes a fresh chapter to his musical story, this time under the roof of the RDA label. Expect that typical mix of dreamy Americana, poetic fragments and melancholy again.
