John K. Samson of The Weakerthans finally released a solo album in 2012. The evocative songs on concept album ‘Provincial’ can withstand the comparisons with Springsteen, Sun Kil Moon and Mountain Goats.
John K. Samson. With a name like that you really have to become a performer... and that he is. Samson set his first musical steps in the ’90s as bass-player of punk band Propagandhi. He left the band in 1997 and established The Weakerthans, with which he writes more melodious and introspective songs.
