Between childlike innocence, seething post-rock and atmospheric minimalism
The Belgian trio TJE brings a unique mix of electronica, melancholic avant-pop, and experimental post-rock. With minimal instrumentation, they strive for maximum impact, exploring the limits of their instruments in search of dissonance and musical friction.
HUMO described their third place at Rock Rally 2024 as “filling the stage with atmosphere, musical craftsmanship, and three songs that built up a tension that felt like that of a full set.” After their much-discussed debut EP IDOLS (2023) and appearances at Best Kept Secret (NL), Reeperbahn (DE), Lokerse Feesten, and a first UK tour, it is now time for the next big step: their long-awaited debut album, which will be released in the spring of 2026 on Mayway Records.
TJE consists of Lindy Versyck (Arsenal) on vocals, Melvin Slabbinck (Kaat Van Stralen) on guitar, and Klaas Leyssen (The Yummy Mouths) on bass. With Pieter-Jan Decraene, they have an ideal producer and co-writer at their side. Live, the trio is known for intense, compelling performances that stay with you long after the show is over.
On April 26, TJE will celebrate their debut album with a release show at AB. Expect a memorable set that balances fragile intimacy and impending explosion. Their idiosyncratic mix of trip hop, electronica, and experimental pop gets under your skin so much that you can hardly get a grip on it.
3voor12: "The trio announced a debut album, featuring songs such as Supernatural and This Is, so you can already start counting down until that record hits like a bomb.”
