Thurston Moore’s favourite artist in 2025
Sunday Morning Concerts is a concert series in the intimate setting of the AB Salon. Music is the focal point, in peaceful surroundings and with rapt attention. Enjoy a warm moment to listen, slow down and discover new sounds.
Laura De Jongh is a harpist from Antwerp who builds on her classical training to create a unique world of sound. She explores the tension between natural acoustics and electronically distorted sound.
After years as a sought after harpist, playing in diverse constellations and genres, she now shares an intimate glimpse into what sounds like the third space of her daily life: meandering compositions that gently unfold.
She teaches us that music doesn’t always have to go somewhere, prove something or serve someone, but can instead simply be and exist, stoically hovering in the midst of a burning world, impervious and at the same time receptive to anyone who wants to enter her serene universe.
Her debut EP Fundus appeared in 2025 on Klankhaven Records and moves between ambient, new age and field recordings. Thurston Moore (musician, writer and co-founder of Sonic Youth) ranked the album Number 1 of his 350 favourite albums of 2025.
