Avant-pop filled with winding melodies, unexpected magic and irresistible grooves.
ConcertRobbing Millions is the alter ego of Belgian musician Lucien Fraipont. Like avant-pop luminaries Todd Rundgren and Scritti Politti, Fraipont has a gift for crafting truly original melodies.
His path towards Robbing Millions has been every bit as winding as the music itself. Active on the Belgian jazz scene, Lucien has played with several bands over the years, including Aksak Maboul, Das Pop and Amatorski.
While experimenting with recording software at home, he discovered the joy of creating music entirely on his own. Following the virtuosic double album Holidays Inside, the first external release on MGMT Records, the label run by MGMT members Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, came the critically acclaimed Rêve Party. Robbing Millions later released B-Sides EP (2016–2018), another collection of musical gems, before falling quiet for a number of years.
Thankfully, that silence is now coming to an end with the new single See You Again, the first taste of his forthcoming fourth album, due out in spring 2027 via Brussels-based Capitane Records.
Melancholic yet irresistibly groovy, it’s a combination that has gradually become Robbing Millions’ trademark.
