Infectious punk-rock with a gentle heart AND brains!
Punk-rock with a heart and brains! Ever since their 2001 debut ‘The Unraveling’, Chicago's Rise Against has been jolting us awake with their socially and politically engaged message disguised in ultra-catchy punk/hardcore. Figurehead Tim McIlrath (straight edge, vegetarian and fervent follower of animal- and human-rights organisations PETA and Amnesty International) doesn't eschew politically loaded subjects like the Occupy Movement and eco-terrorism on their their upcoming seventh longplayer ‘The Black Market’ either. But this time he also reveals his own warrior heart in the lyrics… he recently had noted in an interview that “This album is a lot more introspective to me”.
