Helena Casella is a Belgian-Brazilian composer and singer who grew up in a very musical family. In her music, she explores and incorporates various genres such as R&B, neo-soul, hip-hop, modern jazz and Brazilian rhythms. This is her way of giving expression to her thoughts and daydreams.
 
In her music, Helena emphasises organic live instruments with as few digital effects as possible. Whether performing solo or with a seven-piece band, Helena takes you along in a journey that balances between the world of the intimate and the ethereal. 
 
Her debut album Pit Of Impressions was released in early March 2025 on Belgium’s W.E.R.F. Records. Her second album is due in February 2027.
 
This concert forms a part of ABVolta, a residency programme in which Volta residents receive made-to-measure support from Ancienne Belgique. Volta has quickly become an indispensable organisation for the development of young musical talent in Brussels’ music scene. AB and Volta join forces to provide artists with long-term support to help them progress as effectively as possible.
