Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue brings soul, a funky party and a New Orleans big band to AB. Or, as frontman Troy Andrews informed us: "multitudes of sound—from brass band blare and deep-groove funk, to bluesy beauty and hip-hop/pop swagger—and plenty of emotion all anchored, of course, by stellar playing and the idea that, even in the toughest of times, as Andrews says: 'Music brings unity'."

Fun fact
His artist name, of course: It literally grew up with him, Troy was apparently already playing his first trombone at the age of four (as there were already plenty of trumpet players in the family)!
Allen Toussaint, Professor Longhair, The Meters, The Neville Brothers, The Wild Tchoupitoulas... là Nouvelle Orléans quoi, of course, but also Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Mark Ronson, Raphael Saadiq... Know too that Trombone Shorty was already welcome in The White House on several occasions.
