Garage-rock indebted to The Strokes & The Libertines
ConcertThe Liverpudlians from Circa Waves first piped up at the end of 2013, with the debut single ‘Get Away/Good For Me’ that landed on their first issue ‘Young Chasers EP’ in mid-2014. Their effervescent, poppy indie/garage-rock owes something to The Libertines and The Strokes and they got their hands on a coveted niche amongst rock ‘n roll’s finest - such as Royal Blood, Temples and Interpol - on the Awards Tour of British music mag NME. The festivals Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds and Oya (Oslo) also fell for them last summer too.
But the real work only just begins this year, with new single ‘Fossils’ and forthcoming longplayer ‘Young Chasers’ on Transgressive Records (Foals, Flume, The Antlers). Dan Grech was behind the dials (Wolf Alice, The Vaccines, Clock Opera) and it's with those releases that Circa Waves will pound upon the doors of the big breakthrough.
