The incisive Irish singer-songwriter Adrian Crowley is already on to his ninth album: 'The Watchful Eye Of The Stars', on the Chemical Underground label (out here via Konkurrent).
It is (yet another) wonderful album, produced by John Parish (see too: Aldous Harding, Arno, PJ Harvey...) We hear powerful melodies, pithy details and much melancholy. But there is also room for witty phrases like "It’s taken me so long to write to you / Well I just couldn’t find a pen."
He has now used that pen to write ten hauntingly beautiful new songs.
