Concert‘Recalling Prince in his androgynous heyday.’ (BBC)
‘Shamir is gifted with a perfectly imperfect voice that stamps his songs with an androgynous charm.’ (Pitchfork)
The BBC is rarely wrong with their ‘BBC Sound of...’ – just call it the ’15 for the future’. Something that has certainly been of benefit to Royal Blood, Haim or Sam Smith in the past. This year the red carpet awaits the likes of Years & Years, James Bay, Shamir, Raury, Lapsley, and Rae Morris.
So AB is proud to announce that aside from Years & Years and Rae Morris, we are also able to welcome the 20-year-old Shamir Bailey this spring. The musical omnivore names both Rihanna and Mac De Marco as influences, and his own music ‘... combines cheeky 80s pop vibes, simplistic drum machines, discordant synths and colourful harmonies.’ AB is an instant fan!
