These well-filled puff pastry triangles are the perfect ultra-fast snack. Make no mistake, after one you’re sure to want a second. So just buy three to start with.

Look beyond the unappetising facade: you can buy the very best Vietnamese bread rolls, or ‘Bánh-Mì’, here. A top favourite of AB colleagues with taste and haste. Tip: they really mean it when they ask if you want your roll spicy! Vegan or meat? With or without coriander? Anything is possible.

In heaven they serve Lebanese food. Nearby AB you can find two Lebanese restaurants where your taste buds will be tickled. Want to eat quick and cheap? Snack bar Ali Baba has delicious wraps and dishes that you can put together yourself.

This brown café is loved by locals and tourists alike and is one of Brussels’ hotspots. They say that the best spaghetti in Brussels is to be eaten at de Monk. Ideal for folks who get stressed by too many choices, as the menu is limited to three fixed options and a monthly changing special. No reservations here, so arrive on time.

Mr and Mrs Wu make them by hand, right in front of your nose. Don’t expect a fancy decor or friendly service, nobody has time for that when rolling noodles. At Au Bon Bol, you have been served a unique taste of China for almost ten years now. We dare to bet that you’ll enjoy them.

That’s what’s invariably to be heard from Peter Deckers – the man behind ABTV – when he heads out to one of the three Yaki restaurants around AB for the third time in a week. And he’s not the only Yaki-lover, pretty much the entire AB crew is a fan of this Brussels mini-chain. That’s not surprising either: vegetarians, vegans and also die-hard carnivores can find what they’re looking for here. Which Yaki is the best? Opinions vary, but the prices are nice and the wine reasonable at them all.

Respect the chef

De Mirante is a classic Italian pizzeria around the corner from AB, run by a grumpy Italian chef. Don’t ask him to adjust his pizzas to your tastes. The pizza will be served as chef Lino intended. Our colleagues from the technical team regularly come here to let off steam on a Friday afternoon, because a good pizza is the best relaxation after a long work week.

La Flaque €€€/ vegetarian - meat
Classy with a screw loose

This organic wine and tapas bar looks like the shabby-chique living room of that one pansexual friend that you just can’t get your head around. It’s very nice and very now. The wines are surprising, the tapas are tasty, and they’ve thought of everything at La Flaque: tampons, condoms, and mints for your wine breath. All free to be grabbed from the give away shelf in the toilets. Do be careful not to get too comfortable here and entirely miss your concert.

Classy with a creative twist 

If you’re looking for that something extra, then head to Resto Henri. You can sometimes see Brussels rapper Zwangere Guy here, and we can’t deny that the man has good taste. Henri describes himself as the meeting place for both business and pleasure. Classic dishes are prepared as tradition dictates, but always with a creative twist and with respect for the season and the producer.
