The Italian violinist, composer, and improviser Silvia Tarozzi is known for her in-depth exploration of sound and oral musical transmission.
As a composer, she released the beautiful Mi specchio e rifletto in 2020, followed by Canti di guerra, di lavoro e d’amore (2022), created with cellist Deborah Walker.
In addition, Tarozzi has been a violinist with the French ensemble Dedalus since 2006, which collaborates with prominent composers from the experimental music scene. She has also worked with dancers, theatre makers, and video artists, and has composed for various interdisciplinary projects. In Bologna, she leads the experimental children’s choir Piccolo Coro Angelico, focused on creative vocal exploration.
