This autumn we continue the tradition of the former AB Salon concerts at Volta.
Until recently, AB Salon was the go-to place for experimental music, daring avant-garde, and contemporary classical sounds—a true haven for musical connoisseurs. Due to extensive renovations of the AB buildings on Steenstraat, a number of these intimate concerts will now take place at Volta.
Volta is a Brussels music centre in Molenbeek, where musicians receive high-quality guidance and support throughout their artistic journey, and where a diverse audience can discover unique music programs and other activities.
A glimpse of our experimental program:
- On 11 October, Michael A. Muller, together with Rob Lowe (founder of the legendary minimalist duo Balmorhea), will perform a live set infused with post-rock and classical influences. The unique acoustics of Volta’s Echochamber make this concert especially remarkable.
In October and November, we present several new releases at the same venue, each time in a double bill:
- 31 October: Clara Levy & Stéphane Cor with a split release on the Huis label.
- 19 November: Michiko Ogawa with her Futura Resistenza release and Casimir Geelhoed with a record on BAADM.
- 25 November: John Also Bennett (new album on Shelter Press) and Lea Bertucci, both with brand-new releases.
- In addition, on 30 October, we welcome Index For Working Musik in Volta’s Club—a promising British band with a fresh blend of neo-psychedelic post-folk.
