Bonnie “Prince” Billy – the alter ego of American songwriter Will comes to AB to present his new album 'We Are Together Again'.
On this album, Oldham reflects on a changing world and on what remains when familiar structures disappear. Bonnie “Prince” Billy focuses on collaboration, friendship and community, and emphasises the importance of music creation as a collective act. Not as a denial of loss or decline, but as an intentional decision to remain creative and connected.
On Tuesday 10 November, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy will be presenting his new album at AB, and tickets are still available.
The presse on ‘We Are Together Again’ :
- "Will Oldham’s 31st album marks a return to his self-described “Louisville-first” approach to making music. His work is still as vital and sharp as it has ever been." – Paste Magazine
- "We Are Together Again oscillates from moments of anguish and those of joy – or, at the very least, those in which joy is not too far out of sight. Strengthened in Oldham’s storytelling, the sentiments are performed with simple arrangements that allow for the messages to shine through." – Far Out Magazine
- "We Are Together Again is an active, burning response to the calamity and fear that grip the heart when reading the news, when watching whatever new development there is in the multitude of nasty stories and troubling developments. Bonnie "Prince" Billy has offered an antidote to those who believe their art does not need to say anything, merely infer. We Are Together Again is not an argument against those or their stance, though, it is merely a showcase of what community and commentary can offer.” – Cult Following
- ‘Oldham’s wistful voice, the gentle strumming of the guitar and a second, intimate female voice may sound melancholic at times, but he actually gives us hope: being together is what matters most.’ – VPRO 3 voor 12
