Winners of De Nieuwe Lichting take festivals by storm
When Guido Belcanto asked us to find some ‘rambling guitars’ for his support act, we discovered Kaat Van Stralen. What started as a solo project quickly grew into a genre-bending punk band, joined by Melvin Slabbinck (drums), Anton Robberechts (guitar) and Faust De Vogelaere (bass).
Kaat Van Stralen blends punk, psychedelia, and alternative spoken word with fiery vocals, sharp beats, and razor-edged guitar riffs. In January 2025, she released her debut single Stop Met Wenen: a punk-rock anthem for women, outsiders and dreamers. Influenced by Amyl & The Sniffers, Wet Leg and Fiona Apple - but entirely in Flemish - Kaat is a unique and high-energy force who takes her audience on one hell of a ride.
Mischievous poet with over 40 years on stage
Guido Belcanto heads to the festivals with his latest album Tedere Baldadigheden. Expect a show brimming with love, tragedy and poetic mischief, delivered with his signature flair, humour and warmth.
For over four decades, Guido Belcanto has been a cornerstone of Flemish music: a troubadour who, together with his band, creates a space where you can laugh and cry, and where every soul is welcome. On stage, he is accompanied by Het Broederschap, consisting of Lieven De Maesschalk, Andries Boone, Maarten Moesen, Nicolas Rombouts, Chris Peeters and Alben Sarens.
