From Blondie to Barbara and back again
Vernis Rouge is a subtle blend of these inspirations drawn from a childhood spent in Lebanon, cut short by an abrupt and painful repatriation during the 2006 war.
A resilience transformed into independence and determination, tempered by a raw sensuality.
A trained pianist from the Toulouse Conservatoire of Music and Dance and a self-taught guitarist, she is influenced by artists ranging from Barbara to Nirvana and No Doubt.
Having made her breakthrough in 2023 with two EPs, ‘Femme nue’ and ‘Corps sauvages’, followed by sold-out shows at the Boule Noire and the Café de la Danse, Vernis Rouge joined the ‘The Voice’ adventure in 2024 and caused a sensation with her totally unexpected cover of... ‘Bande organisée’ by Jul, always appearing where you least expect. Following the ‘Bande organisée’ phenomenon (over 35 million streams/views) and backed by a dedicated fanbase, Vernis Rouge presents the first single from her debut EP, due for release in February 2025: "Comme des loups", a duet with Zaoui; A track in the style of a 2030s ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ that sounds like an artistic rebirth and a personal revolution. Vernis reveals herself in this unstoppable track, which she wrote and co-composed with Alexandre Zuliani, the man behind Thérapie TAXI’s 800,000 album sales.
Following sold-out shows at La Boule Noire, Café de la Danse and La Bellevilloise, she has announced a concert at La Cigale on 26 February 2025, followed by a tour and festival appearances later that year.
