Catchy outsiderpop

Concert

American-Canadian Meghan Remy has been making music under the alias U.S. Girls for ten years now. Initially, the singer explored murky waters with her noise sound, contrary post-punk and angular samples. She made a change though with her last album, ‘In a Poem Unlimited’. Swapping her underground throne for an intelligent pop-sound, though the avant-garde is never far removed.

In the press

‘Never thought that Remy would dare to come up with something so unashamedly hit sensitive. Long gone are the grubby indie songs tarted up with contrary guitars and broken samples. In their place come coquettish songs-to-sing-along-to that borrow from Motown, French sixties-pop, kitschy lounge and trippy electro-pop.’ - De Morgen ****
