Double bill with 2 experimental guitar artists
Collaboration with Oorstof
We know Tom Carter from his work with iconic acid-folk band Charalambides and from his collaborations with artists like Steve Gunn, Bardo Pond, Thurston Moore and Ben Chasny. He has been focusing on solo guitar work since 2012, whereby he meticulously merges melody, drones, fuzz and loaded silences into an enduring whole. The Out Door/Pitchfork voted Carter’s double LP Long Time Underground (3-Lobed) Best Experimental Album of 2015. His most recent release is an untitled collaboration with influential guitarist Lorren Conners for Family Vineyard.
Ameel Brecht is the frontman of groundbreaking improv band Razen, with whom he just recently released the surprisingly solid LP Endrhymes (Kraak). Solo, he works with a resonator-guitar and -mandolin to which he applies classical and avant-garde techniques and alternative tunings. The result places a perfect Mobius strip around the music of Kapsberger, O’Carolan, Casseus and Galasso.
