It hasn't happened often in the history of AB but in ’09 Irish trio The Script did it easily: selling out the ABClub and then growing through an ABBox into a completely sold out Main Hall. Respect! You're sure to have memorised the singles by this Irish trio: 'We Cry' (their debut single), 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' and also 'Break Even'. They were all on the untitled debut that sold 1.8 million copies and effortlessly adorned the number 1 position in the Irish and English charts. They call their sound 'a new brand of Celtic Soul'. Agreed, The Script's music sometimes contains the flow of hip-hop, a trace of r'n'b and a serious rock dynamic but, more than anything else, we hear pure pop melodies. ‘Science & Faith’, the band's new album, is being released at this very moment, with that single ‘For The First Time’ as forerunner. Ireland can be proud of this band. Certainly when you know that Paul McCartney took The Script along on a stadium tour of the US.
