Presentation of a debut album featuring the decacord as the centrepiece
ConcertAfter two years in the turbulent world of De Vlaamse Primitieven, which included the albums ‘Lucht van een Andere Planeet’ and ‘Brandstichters & Oplichters’, Jan Boudart steps into the spotlight as Jean J. Boudart with his first solo album ‘Le Jardin Ultraviolet’ (Klankhaven).
Since 2018, he has been exploring new possibilities for the guitar, focusing on resonance, overtones, harmonics and endless drones. What began as an experiment grew into a five-part composition that developed organically over the years. The switch from a six-string to a ten-string guitar opened up a whole new sonic universe.
On ‘Le Jardin Ultraviolet’, influences from minimalism, raga and impressionist music converge to create a hypnotic, immersive listening experience. The album is a sonic painting that explores the boundaries of our perception and pays homage to the invisible and the intangible.
