Festive Brussels Arabo rock
On the last day of Boterhammen et Feeërieën, we're already announcing the next free event: our annual Street Sounds concert on Car Free Sunday. This time, Brussels-based Arab-rock band The Grey Stars will be performing exclusively. You may have seen them support Zap Mama, Julian Marley, Sergent Garcia and Hindi Zara, but this autumn they'll be celebrating their 10th anniversary on the Anspachlaan stage.
Les Étoiles Grises are a collaboration between Marc Van Eyck, of Studio Pagol and Dalton Drum Syndicate fame, and a host of musicians of Moroccan origin who were previously active in groups such as Les Enfants du Maghreb and La Saga du Raï.
The Grey Starts adapt and enrich Moroccan traditions with rock, funk, afrobeat, reggae, raï, chaabi, dance and disco. A lively, festive mix of Western and Eastern rhythms with a touch of Brussels-style humour.
