Brussels-based multi-disciplinary artist ShunGu has positioned himself as a key player in the underground music scene, there he builds bridges between hip-hop, jazz, psych-rock and house.
His (rightly) widely acclaimed debut A Black Market Album showcased a talent for creating his own ‘sound stories’. He continued his penchant for storytelling through sound in his extensive cassette discography on the renowned Hot Record Société label, where his lo-fi gems captured the hearts of beat lovers the world over.
At the moment, ShunGu is preparing for the release of his long-awaited album Faith in the Unknown, which will be out on the legendary Lex Records in October 2025. The album features an impressive list of collaborations, including with Pink Siifu, Liv.e, Fly Anakin, Chester Watson, Fatima, Maxo, Navy Blue, dreamcastmoe, Contour, ZekeUltra and Goya Gumbani.
The live show will be a compelling A/V performance, with ShunGu playing live on analogue equipment, accompanied by Mejiwahn providing live visuals and Aquiles Navarro on trumpet.
