Rendez-Vous: the very first networking event for all professionals in our sector
Are you a music professional from Flanders or Brussels? Would you like to meet new people, gain inspiration, exchange ideas or help shape the future of our musical landscape? Then Rendez-Vous is for you.
On May 26, VI.BE and Ancienne Belgique will organise the very first network moment for professionals from the sector. In a branch that is rapidly evolving through new technology, social shifts and policy choices, this is the moment to come together and strengthen each other.
For who?
This day is for everyone who is professionally active in the Flemish and Brussels music sector. Yes, really everyone: from venue staff to bookers, managers, HR staff, professional artists, marketeers, roadies, teachers and technicians. From permanent employees to freelancers, from experienced veterans to young professionals and everything in between.
Do you work in the music sector? Then we want you there! Bring as many people as possible from your organisation or network and let your voice be heard.
Why?
Our sector needs more interaction, inspiration, knowledge sharing and support. There’s a lot to discuss: social, technological and policy issues will be addressed. That will happen live at AB, because it’s easier to chat in person than online.
On the programme?
Keynotes, talks, panel discussions, interactive workshops and a day full of networking. (Lunch and networking moment included!) A space to have your voice heard. No boring monologues to be heard on this sector day, but rather open debates on subjects that are close to all our hearts: the status of musicians and people working in the sector, music journalism in the year 2026, mental health and community, the possibilities of AI in music, allyship and feminism for men, you name it.
On the agenda so far:
- Flemish minister of Culture Caroline Gennez on the Kunsten en de actuele ontwikkelingen in de muzieksector (Arts Vision Statement and Current Developments in the music sector),
- A keynote by Liz Pelly, author of Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist,
- Live podcasts by De Machine (with Atze De Vrieze and Malou Miedema) and De Muziekgilde,
- Panels on Fair Pay, music journalism, showcase festivals and AI.
And there’s much more to come.
Rendez-Vous is a collaboration between VI.BE and AB, with the support of Sabam and PlayRight.
Most of the presentations will be held in Dutch.
