This Swedish metal band with a sense of experiment is working on a well-earned takeover. Their latest album 'obZen' has contributed to that goal too, of course: 9 knock-out songs that just recently carried them through Europe at the side of Dillinger Escape Plan - that other trendsetter of the genre.
This fivesome has been around since 1987 and operates more and more on the cutting edge between Tool, Ministry and Slayer. They're known for their technical craftsmanship and their predilection for poly-rhythm (in which several rhythms sometimes appear to collide in the same song). That has already earned them diverging descriptions like avant-garde metal or experimental hard jazz. They'll be returning to Belgium once again on 15 September, with their solidly played sixth studio album.

British death-metal band Trigger The Bloodshed joins the somewhat phenomenal Meshuggah on their European tour. Their album 'Purgation' will be released August 22 on the Metal Blade label. Established in 2006 by Rob Purnell and Martyn Evans, Trigger The Bloodshed is pretty much the most impressive player on the British death-metal scene at the moment.
