Belgian. Unique. Nina Simone meets The Cinematic Orchestra.
“Internationale klasse.” (Het Nieuwsblad)
“world class album.” (De Morgen)
“****” (De Standaard)
You'd be hard pressed not to trip over all the superlatives written about the latest album ‘No Deal’ by Mélanie De Biasio. She was still completely unknown to the general public, until recently, but ‘No Deal’ changed that status entirely.
She hails from Charleroi, resides in Brussels, has a Belgian mother and an Italian father. And a voice that points to Nina Simone. Musically, De Standaard describes her songs as ‘slow meditative chansons’.
We feel entirely immersed in the underground world of The Cinematic Orchestra. She's been notching up the ****-reviews and has certainly stolen our heart.
She'll be playing an exclusive autumn show later this year in Brussels, more specifically, in the AB.
