Live soul-revelation à la Otis, Sam, Van, Raphael...!
ConcertSoul! Wholesale old school soul in de best black vintage sixties tradition, in other words: à la Otis R. or Sam C. But you may also think: Van Morrison, Joe Cocker... up to and including Raphael Saadiq or Jamie Lidell as well. That sort of label.
Leon Bridges comes from Texas and he just so happened to score there this year at the illustrious SXSW festival in Austin (as confirmed by our man on the spot.) He has now completed his debut Coming Home, out at the end of June via Sony.
Smooth Sailin' is then to be the catchy new single: check it out and confirm: wholesale, as it's going to go down well, and old school, because it's going to score big time.
Leon Bridges? The current, stylish link or bridge, as you will, between all good things soul, funk, gospel... Yup, that sort of quality label!
