A Dutchman in Paris (after time in Berlin). Thomas Azier is a wondrous sound wizard. So much so that he has even worked on the latest CD by phenomenon Stromae. Also allowed to tag along with Stromae or Woodkid as support-act.
Now there is 'Talk To Me', his second 'full CD' here via Universal. With an old upright piano as core instrument and his voice as 'fil rouge', and that always with the laptop at hand.
Beauty prevails, but unpredictability is pretty much his trademark. Or, in his own words: 'when I know the next step, then it’s time for a change.'
So it was that a previous single, 'Red Eyes', was to be heard in an Yves Saint Laurent advertising campaign. But on the other hand, on his own label he apparently tends to even more obscure work by Mdou Moctar, LYAM or Marquis!?
