Our favourite song-troubadour-de-luxe’s 6th visit to AB
‘It is my first album of original music, but is still linked to the Appalachian music I love, as well as improvisation, beats, Don Cherry, Vermont, London.’ says Sam Amidon of his brand new album ‘The Following Mountain’. Just as with his two previous releases, he received the support of the famous Nonesuch label that took the likes of Fleet Foxes and Liana Lahavas under their wing.

‘What distinguishes Amidon from the pack of folk revivalists is that he not only has an impressively deep knowledge of traditional song forms, but takes liberties with the country's past in order to document his own personal present.’ (Pitchfork)
Sam Amidon was, just like Ben Frost and Nico Muhly, a part of the Icelandic ‘Bedroom Community’ collective. They appeared together on stage in AB in 2009.
