Synth-driven, meditative drones and stunning visuals
UPDATE: AB closes its doors until the 31st of March as a result of COVID-19. Therefore, this concert will be suspended and if possible postponed to a new date. Thank you for your understanding.
Floating Spectrum is the solo project of Taiwan-born, Berlin-based musician and audio-technologist Mei-Fang Liau. She creates intuitive and emotional compositions from a technically rigourous practice, coding her own custom generative music machines and software-synthesizers. Using self-made tools such as Polyphylla (her fractal-based, synthesizer inspired by patterns found in nature) she is able to craft a broad range of intricate, organic computer-based sounds with subtlety and depth.
Floating Spectrum’s debut 'A Point Between' was released in September 2019 on the Temporary Residence Ltd. label – where she hangs out in the good company of artists like William Basinski, Mono and Eluvium.
The otherworldly visuals were crafted by creative ‘code artist’ Abe Pazos and reveal a comparably fluent sensitivity to his digital tools.
As an audience, you are immersed in a scintillating audiovisual world in which human, nature and technology are intimately and inextricably bound.
