Coca-Cola Sessions: Amery + Sam Renascent

Facebook event Share Tweet

The two most promising Belgian pop sensations

Sam Renascent
Sam chose his artist name (derived from the Latin ‘renascens’) while visiting his land of birth, Congo, for the very first time. With it he refers to a rebirth, something that can also be heard in his music: he gives pop songs a facelift with vintage synthesizers, electronic beats and catchy lyrics. There are African accents woven into first single ‘Kobotama’ – the percussion, balafon and the electric guitar that is typical for soukous – that give the song something unique.

Amery proved that he might well become one of the country’s biggest native pop talents with the catchy single ‘I Need Lovin’. Studio Brussel picked up the single as hotshot, but it caught icon Elton John’s eye too. He called the track ‘fabulous’ after hearing it during his Rocket Hour show on the Apple broadcaster Beats 1.

In the meantime, it has become clear that the 21-year-old musician has even more to offer. His popularity on Spotify has increased with singles like ‘So Good’ and new one ‘Blame’. During his live shows, the enthusiastic Amery brings a grin to your face with his many talents.

– De Morgen about Sam Renascent in Trix, We Are Open

– Focus Knack about Sam Renascent in Trix, We Are Open

– De Morgen about Amery’s ‘I Need Lovin’
