Stunning, melancholy indie-folk

Big Thief’s frontwoman Adrianne Lenker grew up in a sect and, as a child, she was forced to make music by her father. He wanted to make a pop star of her, but the singer put an end to that when she was sixteen. In the meantime, she has managed perfectly to turn her traumatic childhood into something beautiful. The four from New York write wonderful songs about the crazy parents, broken loves and hellish life in a big city.

The band’s third release has provided us with one of the albums of the year: ‘U.F.O.F.’.

Big Thief have partnered with PLUS1 so that €1 from every ticket will go to organizations bringing dignity, equity, and access to communities who need it.

‘To me, ‘U.F.O.F.’ by Big Thief is the perfect indie-folk album: stunning songs with a bitter undertone.’ Astrid De Sterck

In the press ‘The third album from the Brooklyn quartet is an intimate and surreal experience, a true masterpiece of folk music from a band working together at the highest level.’ – best new music Pitchfork

Great set from Big Thief, unbearable noise from Ithaca. I'm afraid the joke was wasted on me, and all I wanted to do was get as far away as possible in order to have some hearing left for the main act. And then Adrianne said during a break in songs that she is learning a lot from the support group. What c

Ik had enkele kleine kanttekeningen dus dat haalt het totaal naar beneden van 6/5 naar 5/5. Prachtig!!

Good combination of Adrianne's voice with the instruments, not so much indie folk as described, sounded more garage/rock to me except for the 2 songs she sang on her own. Some unnecessary gaps between the songs when she was tuning her guitar. Altogether a good evening except for the 1st group Ithaca which is by far the worst band I've seen live in 40 years that I've been to concerts. I'm not a heavy rock music fan, that's true but there's a difference between quality bands in this area and what sounded to me like a bad joke.
