Radio Soul! The Early Songs of Elvis Costello
Elvis Costello has added a Belgian date to his European tour, “Radio Soul! The Early Songs of Elvis Costello!”. After stops in Oslo, Stockholm, and London, the British icon will be performing in Brussels. It’s the perfect opportunity to see Costello, alongside The Imposters and Charlie Sexton, perform in an intimate setting.
With the “Radio Soul!” tour, the British-Irish singer-songwriter delves into the formative early years of his career. He performs songs from his albums released between 1977 and 1986, from “My Aim Is True” to “Blood & Chocolate.” This new project stays true to his playful and unpredictable style, combining timeless classics like “Watching The Detectives,” “Alison,” and “I Want You” with carefully selected gems and surprises. Surrounded by The Imposters (Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas, and Davey Faragher) and guitarist Charlie Sexton (known for his work with Bob Dylan), Costello delivers a show that goes far beyond a simple tribute to his own past. The Imposters prove they are still a rock band in top form, breathing new life into the songs as they effortlessly shift between raw intensity and fragile ballads. Costello balances respect for the original repertoire with the freedom of interpretation. He creates a dialogue between heritage and modernity with unprecedented power and vitality.
