Haunting hypnagogic experimental sounds
Under the moniker DREKKA, composer Michael Anderson is building a personal archive of sound dating back to the mid-1980s with his many releases, extensive tours and various collaborations. His sound has tangents to the soundscapes and non-linear impressionism of Cindytalk or COIL, the industrial heaviness of Einstürzende Neubauten or Hafler Trio and the cinematic collaborations of Edward Artemiev/Andrei Tarkovsky or Simon Fisher Turner/Derek Jarman. His work has been released on Auris Apothecary, Fabrica, Morc, Silber, Somnimage, and Anderson's own label, Bluesanct, among others. Anderson has also recorded and toured as a member of projects such as Jessica Bailiff, Dylan Ettinger, Annelies Monseré, Stone Breath, and Turn Pale.
