From American Primitivism to post classical. From John Fahey to 130701.
BRDCST is ABâs outstanding indoor spring festival spotlighting musical boundlessness. The name is a direct reference to the retro futuristic electronica-pop of the English band Broadcast that released inspiring albums like âHaha Soundâ and âNoise Made By The Peopleâ over the past decade. Artists who feel strongly about musical innovation form the focal point for BRDCST. Our musical gut feeling will do the rest.

DANIEL BACHMAN (us)
Young acoustic guitarist Daniel Bachman has â despite his young age (25) â already established a very impressive oeuvre, with no less than 8 albums and counting. His John Fahey-like fingerpicking technique impresses and most of the songs have an intensity that you wouldnât expect from someone his age. With influences from traditional blues, âApalachian hill musicâ and long raga/drone pieces, his work often stems from the âAmerican Primitivismâ we know from the above-mentioned Fahey and artists like James Blackshaw, Leo Kottke and Jack Rose. Wonderful folky blues splendour that leaves none unmoved!

RESINA (Poland)
Discovered last year at Polandâs Unsound festival: the equally Polish cellist Resina who instantly won us over with her subtle and intense string play. Fat Catâs post classical imprint 130701 was also so impressed by a demo she sent them that they instantly gave Karolina Rec (Resinaâs real name) a spot aside labelmates like Ian William Craig, Hauschka and JĂłhann JĂłhannsson. To listen is to become spellbound.
Admittance is free of charge according to the principle of âfirst come, first served.â
This also applies to those with a Limited BRDCST Festival Pass.
