News from the Arsenal camp. The band proudly announces that the new album will be called ‘Melvin’ and can be seen, heard and bought on 20 March. Then on 11 April the successor to ‘Lotuk’ will finally arrive, it is entitled ‘Lokemo’. We were able to listen to an advance copy of the new album and can confirm that Arsenal are in top form.
To add a little lustre to the occasion, after three exceptionally soon sold-out ABconcerts, the band encompassing Hendrik Willemyns and John Roan have just recently decided to give an extra concert in the AB before heading off to the festivals. We're talking Friday 20 May.
Arsenal is the band surrounding Hendrik Willemyns and John Roan. They appeared on the AB's radar in 2001 and, armed with their 12" ‘A Volta’, they came to play a Late Night after Basement Jaxx. Arsenal has established itself as a success story over the last 10 years, with debut ‘Oyebo Soul’ (2003) and successor ‘Outsides’ (2005). All the big concert halls and festivals have have now had a visit from Arsenal, with a starring role set aside for singer Leonie Gysel on each occasion.
