00 Rotonde: Love Like Birds A revelation that sings like a bird!? Elke De Mey in everyday life but as alias Love Like Birds and according to Cutting Edge: 'straffe fluisterfolk, slaapkamerpop, warme folksound.' Her Heavy Heart was also found to be good by vi.be, Studio Brussel and Radio 1!
40 Orangerie: Zoft Two-member bands aren't always rock formations. It's quite difficult to make that point with The White Stripes, Blood Red Shoes and The Black Box Revelation in mind but duo Zoft from Brussels is the finest example, with their mad combination of drum and guitar. The psychedelic riffs and biting drums are attuned to the hyperkinetic strobe lights that the band uses during their shows. The insane, experimental music is also synonymous with one great chaos. They've recently played every corner of Europe and now return to their homeland for the launch of “Electrically Hauted”, Zoft’s first LP.
30 Rotonde: Birds That Change Colour They were fabulous last summer at the Feeërieën festival with their psychedelic folk and pleasingly crazy packaging (plus Nathalie and Jorunn from Laïs amongst the members); 'On Recording The Sun', that's the title of their hot CD.
20 Orangerie: Customs At the end of 2011 in a jam-packed ABBox on the occasion of their new CD 'Harlequins Of Love' and immediately a smashing success along with even more catchy singles in the now long row of 'Rex', 'Justine', 'The Matador', 'Shut Up Narcissus', 'Harlequins', 'Toupee'...
30 Rotonde: Dan San In 2010, their first EP “Pillow” immediately assured the Dan San members from Luik of a spot in Belgium's colourful musical landscape! Their acoustic folk is based upon dreamy, melancholy melodies and arresting rhythms. The vocals are intriguing and – combined with guitar, percussion on cajon, harmonica and clarinet - simply exceptional! The band is a part of the JauneOrange collective and recently won the Verdur Rock competition. They've previously performed as support act to the likes of Beirut and Bat For Lashes during Les Nuits and also appeared at Les Ardentes in 2010! For us, that says more than enough!
