BBC sound of 2012 hip hop alumnus

The BBC included him in the ‘Sound of 2012’ chart, and that in the good company of Michael Kiwanuka, Azealia Banks and Skrillex. This 23-year-old rapper from Harlem won the hearts of many hip-hop-heads via the internet. ‘LiveLoveA$AP’ is the mix-tape that he dropped onto the net in 2011 and which catapulted him into the blogosphere, after which he signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Sony/RCA label. ‘Peso’ and ‘Purple Swag’ are now huge hits … date in the AB on Monday 11 June.
Extra support-act will be female rap-duo THEESatisfaction. Their Sub Pop debut ‘awE naturalE’ was canned with the assistance of Shabazz Palaces. According to De Standaard, we've gained “yet another fine new offspring of the hip-hop renaissance” in the form of female rappers Stasia “Stas” Irons and Catherine “Cat” Harris-White.
