The Antidote Tour will bring the best of metalcore, post-hardcore and pop-punk to Brussels
The Eastpak Antidote Tour 2011 will be a pleasant reunion with a number of familiar faces. It so happens that this year the tour will be closed by A Day to Remember, preceded by August Burns Red. As luck will have it, both bands performed together on our stage in 2009 during the Bring Me The Horizon tour.
A Day to Remember. The new album by the band from Florida was released last year in November and entitled ‘What Separates Me From You’. ADTR make a fine mix of post-hardcore with sugary-sweet pop-punk melodies such as can also be found on their previous album ‘Homesick’. Were a highlight in their own rite earlier this year in a seething AB.
August Burns Red is also familiar with the inside of the AB. Played a sold-out ABClub at the end of 2008 and, at the time, we described the album ‘Messengers’ as searing passion and technical virtuosity collected in 11 biting metalcore tracks. Following on from ‘Constellations’ (2009), their most recent album ‘Leveler’ has just been released. ‘August Burns Red roll out their metalcore like a human thunder cloud … their gut punching rhythms and howling vocals are most welcome and expertly executed’ (Kerrang!). ‘August Burns Red are the perfect anti-heroes in a world full of false idols and paper tigers’ (Metal Hammer).
Further, 2 more bands on this bill: The Ghost Inside from Los Angeles last year released their second album ‘Returners’, full of melodic hardcore. Canada's Living With Lions present eccentric pop-punk.
