EarthBall (Tue 28/04) and Orcutt Shelley Miller (Sat 03/05) are connected through label, collaborations and history. Both acts release on Upset The Rhythm, the British label that brought them together on stage at Café Oto (London). The connection runs deeper: Bill Orcutt has collaborated for years with Chris Corsano, the drummer who also appears on EarthBall releases. And Orcutt's history with Harry Pussy — the noise rock band that supported Sonic Youth and Sebadoh in the nineties — closes the circle with Steve Shelley, who now stands beside him in Orcutt Shelley Miller.
EarthBall is a Canadian psychedelic free kraut-postpunk band that reinvents itself every night — their album Outside Over There was named #2 Album of the Year by The Quietus. Orcutt Shelley Miller brings together guitarist Bill Orcutt, Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) and Ethan Miller (Comets On Fire) — raw avant-rock that sounds like Neil Young disguised as a psychedelic jazz trio.
Two nights, one scene. Combo ticket: 20 euros (+ 3 euros booking fee), instead of 35 euros separately.
