In April Swing made an unforgettable visit to AB with the trio L’Or du Commun. He will soon be returning solo to present his second album, from which the single ‘N’ is the first feat. His new project appears via Brussels’ Labrique and is the successor to his debut ‘Marabout’.
In ‘Meet the artist’, we subject our artists to an short cross-examination before they go on stage.

What do you do in your daily life?
Swing: Music. Especially in the run-up to the release of a project, at the moment I’m obsessed with music.
Who is your biggest musical influence?
Swing: The influences on my music are diverse and varied, it goes from Kendrick Lamar and its label TDE to James Blake and Frank Ocean and includes Jaden Smith

Do you often come to Ancienne Belgique?
Swing: Yes, quite often actually. The last concert I attended was Mahalia
First time solo on stage at AB, how does it make you feel?
Swing: It will be the first concert of the tour and additionally it’s at home so I feel very excited and I’m very much looking forward to it.
“N” has a rather heavy subject, can we expect something similar for your new album?
Swing: Hard to say, I’d say that N stays the most “committed” part of the project.
Are there any special requests on your rider?
Swing: Tea! Essential before every time I go up on stage.
