Legendary Brussels youth percussion group Fanfakids has been around for 25 years! We celebrate that milestone on October 25 with a big party at AB. For the occasion, Fanfakids and their production company MetX invite six other musical youth groups from Brussels too. These young people all play percussion in their own way and from their own background and drive: on the street, at schools, in concert venues, or during celebrations within their own communities.
During this unique happening, around 100 young people will first perform their own group’s repertoire: a sampling of what is happening among percussion and dance groups in Brussels. Followed by a collective performance with a guest drummer (TBA), inspired by the 25 year Fanfakids repertoire, and accompanied by Jo Zanders – founder of percussion band DROM and (in 2000) also one of the founders of Fanfakids during the first Zinneke Parade.
