On Friday, January 30, 2026, The Sound of the Belgian Underground will return to AB.
After ten years and five editions at AB, SOBU has grown into a cult night as well as a springboard for the most exciting new artists from the Belgian underground.
For 2026, Different Class is joining forces with two curators: Maya (Vieze Meisje) and Sidney (NMSS):
"I think the underground is carried by artists who often remain invisible, artists who innovate and experiment. That’s how we approach the term when putting together the line-up." – Vieze Meisje
"Underground nowadays actually means nothing. Take electronic music: it originated in underprivileged Afro-American communities and grew into a global movement embracing queerness. Now it’s commercialized and institutionalized. The times of underground resistance are far behind us. Electronic music is mainstream now. I think terms like ‘alternative’ or ‘emerging’ are more relevant." – NMSS
