Just ten months ago (February 2022), AB reopened for an audience. Finally, after an unbelievably difficult period of a year and a half during which we were mostly closed.
It was hesitant at first. And there was Arno taking leave of his seated and masked audience (with Covid Safe Ticket) in ‘his living room’ AB. Stromae was there too.
It wasn’t until March 7 that those last regulations fell away too and AB could literally and figuratively breath again. The desire to party was lacking though: People remained cautious and the concerts had some difficulty finding their audiences.
So it will be no surprise that we were relieved and elated to see ticket sales soar this fall. Yes, our audience – that’s you, dear readers – is back. Yes, our artists are back. The desire has returned, and so too has the vibe!
We don’t take your return for granted. Because, yes, we love al sorts of music and so also rock, except when it concerns the energy bill and the proverbial sky-rock-et. That has sideswiped not only this venue but also your wallet. We feared that the urge to party might be swapped with the urge to cut costs, but that thought didn’t take into account our melomaniac visitors.
You showed up in droves again and that has been good for us. Good for our hearts and hopefully for yours too. We wish you a smashing 2023 full of invigorating moments, here with us if at all possible!
